Hi! I’m Miss Elizabeth Hansen and I hope you take a moment to get to know me and see if I may be a good fit to teach your child this year.
I can’t remember a time when I didn’t dance. My passion and love for dance led me to study dance at Brigham Young University where I graduated as valedictorian in 2008 with a degree in Dance Education. While at BYU I received both the Leona Holbrook Dance Scholarship as well as the Gary Hopkinson Dance Scholarship and received numerous awards including the Outstanding Dance Educator Award and Distinguished Graduating Dance Senior Award. While attending BYU I had the opportunity to perform on dancEnsemble, Kinnect, and The Dancers’ Company. During my experience on various dance companies I had the opportunity to perform and teach regionally and internationally. I also served as the Dance Major Student Representative, chair of the Dean’s Student Council and was a member of the University Student Council.
After graduation I taught for two years at Riverton High School as a full-time dance teacher as well as the Dance Company advisor. My choreographic works as a teacher received superior ratings at several festivals and in 2010 my work took first place at the Utah High School Shakespearian Festival.
In 2010 I served as the founder and director of the Utah Artist, Interrupted chapter where for four years I had the opportunity to organize conferences, performances and other events for female artists in Utah.
My most dynamic and challenging recent artistic endeavor is that of mother to my four beautiful children along side my favorite collaborator, my husband Spencer.
